How does it work?

 

Pick a plan that suits your needs, fill out the request form, and we'll schedule an initial consultation within 24 hours (likely sooner than that) to get to know you and your company.  From there, we’re off and running.

Do I qualify?

 

+lawyer | s3 services are typically reserved for startups, solos, and small businesses with fewer than 10 employees, no in-house counsel, and <$500,000 gross revenues/year. We are also open to offering +lawyer | s3 services to certain non-profit organizations.  If your company does not qualify for +lawyer services, contact us and we'll be glad to work with you to find a solution that meets your needs.

Is there a time commitment?  

​

Each plan is a one-year contract.  You can cancel anytime for any reason. We can cancel at any time for any reason, too, subject to our professional responsibilities under state ethics rules.

What do I get?

 

You won't get every legal service imaginable under these plans.  Every plan includes constant contact (by phone or email), basic legal advice and strategy on any of the categories on our business solutions page, and quick doc reviews. Limitations apply based on the type of plan.  Higher-priced plans include additional document reviews, drafting basic form documents, weekly or monthly check-ins, and reports on legal trends.  Litigation and regulatory matters are excluded, but we'll be glad to handle those matters for your business under more traditional hourly arrangements at discounted rates or alternative fee arrangements.

What if I exceed the plan or I need something that is outside the limits of the plan? 

 

Hourly rates apply.  However, we’ll discuss these situations if and as they arise.  If, for example, we’re chatting on the phone about a question or issue that turns out to be something that needs more research, additional thought, or additional evaluation, we will let you know, give you a sense of any additional costs outside the plan, and proceed according to your instructions.  You won’t ever receive an additional invoice for after-plan, hourly work that you have not authorized.

These services are designed to give your solo, startup, or small business a very cost-efficient way to get legal advice and develop a relationship with an attorney as the business grows.  In turn, we benefit by establishing relationships with new business clients and providing the highest level of client service possible so that you’ll think of us when bigger or more complicated issues or cases affecting your business arise in the future.  

 

How do I pay?

 

We bill monthly, with payment due upon receipt of our invoice.  The fee is not a retainer.  It is a non-refundable fee for access to legal services based on the plans selected, subject to  terms and conditions of service, that we earn upon receipt of the fee. The fee is not contingent on a favorable outcome.

Do I have to sign anything? 

 

By signing up, you agree to our terms of service and we'll have you sign the firm's standard engagement letter.  We'll bill you for the first month after receiving the engagement letter and monthly thereafter for the term of the contract. The engagement begins upon our receipt of payment.
